You can track your progress by comparing it against unit requirements and at every stage of your learning and study. You can also get support from your iTAFE mentor and advisor.

Study Guide There are many ways that you might choose to make your way through the unit. The diagram and suggested sessions (below) will help to plan your learning through the Promote products and services unit. The sessions outlined below are a suggestion only - you may have another way that you prefer to study.





Session 1 – Plan promotional activities – Purple Tiles


This includes:

·        Identifying, assessing, planning and scheduling promotional activities
·        Time lines and costs
·        Developing action plans

 
A few points to think about for your blog:

What are promotional activities?
Consider what some promotional objectives would be
Realistic time lines and costs of promotions
What is a promotional action plan?

Session 2 – Coordinate promotional activities - Aqua tiles

This includes:

   Identify personnel and resources for promotional activities
   Roles and responsibilities for delivery of activities
   Establish relationships with targeted group/s
   Using networks to assist in implementing activities

A few points to think about for your blog:

What personnel and resources might be required to coordinate promotional activities?  Explain your choices.
Are the roles and responsibilities for the delivery of an activity the same as the roles in the preparation stage?  Think about the reasoning behind your answers.
What would the purpose of establishing a relationship with targeted groups?  Justify your answer with examples or scenarios.
If someone suggested using networks to assist in implementing a promotional activity, what do you think they mean?

  

Session 3: Legislation relevant to promotional activities – Pink tiles


This includes:

   Relevant legislation
   Marketing plan and associated budgets in the business plan

A few points to think about for your blog:

What legislation would have any impact on a marketing activity?
Why would it be important to have knowledge of relevant legislation? What impact would it have?
What sort of costs would be involved and how would this impact on the business plan?

 

Session 4: Review and report on promotional activities – Blue tiles


This includes:

    Collect feedback
   Analyse costs and time lines
   Identify future improvements
   Prepare conclusions and recommendations

A few points to think about for your blog:

How could you collect feedback from a promotional activity?  What would you do with it when you collected it?
What sort of information would be valuable and why?  Who would want to know this information?
